What is DepositLink?:
This software is the latest option for sending in earnest money by ACH. DepositLink allows for buyers to securely transfer funds at the request of their agent. The agent begins the process by entering information which creates a prompt to their buyer that funds are being requested. Behind the scenes there is built-in security ensuring the transfer of funds. This system is similar to a wire in that once the funds are sent by a buyer, they cannot be recalled. One perk is that the cost to use is much less than a wire fee. Currently, a buyer can be charged as much as $40-$50 per wire when initiating through their financial institution. Using DepositLink, the buyer would be charged only $10 per transfer.

How to set up a transfer request for your buyer using DepositLink:
As an agent:
Look for the welcome email from DepositLink and follow the link in their email to setup your account.
*In the future you'll simply access by going to https://depositlink.com/Login
To login, please use the credentials you just selected at setup *your AFHSIR email address and preferred password
At each login you'll need to provide a code that is sent to your phone as verification
To begin using, please click "Create a New Deal"
Here you will be prompted to fill in the basics about your transaction: your role (represent buyer or seller), property address
Next, you will share information about the buyer(s) or person(s) sending the earnest money funds: name, email, amount due, deadline for payment
After you enter, the buyer(s)/person(s) sending in earnest money will then receive an email requesting they submit funds
As the buyer:
They will receive an email requesting earnest money funds
By clicking "pay this request now" they are redirected to DepositLink's site where funds can be sent
Buyer fills in address, cell number and agrees to terms of service
From there, buyer selects their financial institution and links their account information by signing in to their bank using their personal credentials for their online banking
Once the buyer sends funds they receive immediate notification that funds have been sent
As their agent, you'll also receive notification that funds are on the way
As the status updates from pending to confirmed, all parties will again receive notification
